Tech Camp Memphis

Bi-Annual Memphis Tech, Social & Online Marketing Conference

How It Started

It all started with Bar Camp. Bar Camp was and continues to be informal groups of people that gather in many different cities around the world with the goal of expanding knowledge of how the internet works, and how the internet, as a medium, has changed the way we approach just about everything in life. More specifically, how this change affects our work as designers, marketers, brand developers and so on.

When the local group from Bar Camp Memphis wanted to make the meetings more structured they decided to rename it Tech Camp Memphis. Their goal was to offer the meetings in a slightly more formal environment and add a bit more structure so that those that attended would get the most out of the conference.

So, by definition, what is Tech Camp?

Tech Camp Memphis is the bi-annual Memphis tech, social, & online marketing conference which is hosted in the spring and the fall each year in Memphis, Tennessee. The upcoming camp is on May 12, 2012 at Southwest Tennessee Community College (Macon Campus).

This year they plan on offering three different tracks of learning including:

  • Content Creators, Curators & Consumers
  • Online Marketing
  • Developers

The day will start at 8:30 in the morning and end around 4:00 in the afternoon.

The public is invited to this event as it exists to help expand their knowledge of the internet and how businesses and consumers can interact in a profitable way. There is limited space so it is better to register early rather than trying to get in the door at the last minute.

If you are interested in attending this event there are numerous ways to learn more.
